Facilitator Training

The Ancient Path — Facilitator Training

Training for men called to lead other men through the Ancient Path. This is formation, not just instruction. The work is grounded in the foundation laid by Dr. Dan Allender's Narrative-Focused Trauma Care (NFTC) and Dr. Curt Thompson's Confessional Communities — we step into it with their inspiration and guidance. Facilitators are trained to carry three streams of work: story work, moving a man from his fragmented story into being truly known; confessional community, leading a circle where men are known and go deeper together; and crossings, guiding men through the threshold seasons when one chapter has closed and the next hasn't begun. You'll gain the framework, the group-leadership skill, and the ongoing support to hold space, ask the questions that open men up, and guide a cohort through hard ground without forcing it. At the heart of this training is the Ancient Path Student Course — the twelve-week journey that walks men out of pornography and sexual sin toward purity, not by white-knuckling behavior but by reaching the wounds beneath it. You're being equipped to lead that course yourself and carry it into the group, church, or community you serve — so the men around you can walk this path together rather than alone.

Becoming a facilitator is one way the Guide Path takes shape — formation that turns outward into leading other men. See the Guide Path →

Jason Posey

Facilitator, The Ancient Path

For several years, Jason has served in a ministry called Conquer, walking men away from pornography and sexual sin toward a life of purity — sitting with hundreds of them as they fought the wounds beneath the behavior. He knows that path because he walked it himself. For most of his life, pornography was his medication, until it stopped working and left him near the end of himself. What he found in recovery — the slow, real work of being known and handing the wound to Jesus — became the very thing he felt called to give away. This course is the fruit of that path, now laid down for the men coming behind him.
